Donald Cerrone and Jim Miller to headline UFC’s next visit to New Jersey

Donald Cerrone and Jim Miller to headline UFC’s next visit to New Jersey

UFC Fight Night 45 will be held at the Revel Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City, N.J., July 16.  Headlining the card will be one of the Garden State’s own, Jim Miller (24-4).

Miller will try to stay at bay of the reach of opponent, Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone (23-6).

This five-round main event with #7 ranked lightweight “Cowboy” and #9 ranked New Jersey native Miller should be interesting as the two fightes have 15 post fight bonuses between them including three Fight of the Night awards each.

Both Miller and Cerrone are coming off recent wins.  Miller scored a first round submission victory over Yancy Medeiros just last weekend at UFC 172, and Cowboy submitted Edson Barboza, April 19, also a first round victory.

Miller lost to Pat Healy in April 2013 however the decision was overturned after Healy tested positive for a banned substance.  With the no-contest Miller is now riding a three -fight win streak with victories over Medeiros, Fabricio Camoes, and Joe Lauzon.  The Healy fight came in between the Lauzon and Camoes contests.

Cerrone also sitting atop a three-fight win-streak with the win over Barboza, Ardriano Martins, and Evan Dunham is also seeking to move his way up the 155 lb. ladder.

The main card for UFC Fight Night 45 will air on FOX Sports 1 following prelims that stream on UFC Fight Pass.

No other fights for this card have been announced.
