Invicta FC 20 results:  Tonya Evinger vs. Yana Kunitskaya

Invicta FC returned to the Scottish Rite Temple for Invicta FC 20, headlined by bantamweight champion Tonya “Triple Threat” Evinger who tried to continue her divisional domination against Yana “Foxy” Kunitskaya.

If Evinger had won it would have meant 10 in a row for the champ.  Unfortunately, organizational newcomer Kunitskaya defeated her via armbar in less than two minutes.  The crowd fell silent as the call was made, it was a scene nobody saw coming.

In the co-main event, newly crowned Invicta FC strawweight champion Angela “Overkill” Hill made her first title defense against ascending Brazilian challenger Kaline “The Dark Angel” Medeiros.  Hill impressed throughout the contest showing much improvement since her days on the Ultimate Fighter. She has now moved to 4-0 in Invicta with a unanimous decision over Medeiros.

Invicta Fighting Championships is celebrating their 20th show which truly shows how big mixed martial arts, especially the female athletes have become.

Years ago, if you said that an all female mixed martial arts organization would be successful people would have laughed but here we are.  Congratulations Shannon Knapp and the entire Invicta FC staff.

The eight-fight card streamed live and exclusively via UFC Fight Pass at 8 p.m. ET / 7 p.m. CT.

Former atomweight champion Herica Tiburcio snapped a two-fight losing streak and gained a win with her new camp in American Strikers Academy, earning a unanimous decision over Simona Soukupova.
