Joe Riggs injured, Valor Fights 36 gets new main event

Valor Fights Announces Gerald Meerschaert will Replace Joe Riggs in the Main Event of Valor Fights 36, Which Will Take Place on August 13 at the Gatlinburg Convention Center in Gatlinburg, TN.

Simpsonville, SC. — With Joe Riggs forced out of his main event bout against Sidney Wheeler at Valor Fights 36 due to injury, Valor Fights CEO Tim Loy has found a very suitable replacement. Stepping in on short notice will be Roufusport middleweight Gerald Meerschaert, who sports an impressive record of 22-8 with 5 KO’s and 15 submissions. Meerschaert is riding a three fight winning streak, including a third round TKO over Lucas Rodolfo Bresolin Rota at Titan FC 34 last July.

“While we were certainly disappointed with the loss of Riggs in the main event, we are extremely excited to bring in someone the caliber of Gerald Meerschaert to face Sidney Wheeler in the main event of Valor Fights 36 on August 13,” said Valor Fights CEO Tim Loy. “I’m extremely impressed with both Meerschaert and Wheeler for facing one another on such short notice and we are confident that the great Valor fans will witness another tremendous main event.”
