John Lineker misses weight for record fifth time – UFC Portland

For the fifth time in his professional mixed martial arts career John Lineker has missed weight.  Lineker forfeits 20 percent of his purse to John Dodson for coming in at 136.5 for their UFC Fight Night 96 main event fight tomorrow night in Portland, Oregon.

After missing weight four times at flyweight (125-pounds) Lineker was forced to move up to bantamweight (135-pounds).  He had three successful weigh-in attempts at the new weight class, until today.

According to MMAJunkie: “Lineker waited until the last possible minute in the two-hour weigh-ins window to step on the scale. When he did, with the aid of a towel and no clothing, he was 136.5 pounds, putting him a half-pound over the limit. In the UFC’s new early weigh-ins, there is no allowance given for extra time to make weight.”
