NAFC’s BMO Harris Bradley Center “Mega Brawl”: Co-Main Event, Magdaleno Vs. Smith

Saturday night the co-main event for NAFC’s Mega Brawl is a strawweight bout between Raquel Magdaleno (1-0) of Roufusport and Rachael Smith (0-0) of Defend Michigan. Smith will be making her professional debut inside the BMO Harris Bradley Center. Magdaleno is preparing for her second professional appearance, seeking to improve winning streak.

Smith hails from Kalamazoo, Michigan, in hunt of her first professional win. After posting an impressive 6-2 amateur record, the Michigan native plans to use her height advantage to propel her past Magdaleno. Smith stands at five feet four inches tall, coming in at half a foot taller than her opponent.

Magdaleno, 29, is a Minnesota native fighting out of Roufusport Academy. Adopting Milwaukee as her new town, the cheese head nation has quickly come custom to “Rocky” Magdaleno’s aggressive attitude inside the cage. She transitioned her wrestling experience of over a decade into the MMA scene and has found success doing thus far. Her short stature and aggressive attitude delivers an explosion the fans enjoy immensely.

The strawweights have similar reaches, with Smith’s having a slight two-inch advantage. Both fighters enter the fight well prepared after solid training camps. Smith is known for her tough ground game where she’s submitted past opponents, yet Magdaleno also comes from a strong background in wrestling.

This matchup is an exciting one between two up and coming prospects in one of the newest weight classes. Expect each fighter to go full steam ahead as they look to bring the battle to the canvas. Any fans that enjoy grappling should pay attention to this fight as it has the potential to only end in a submission.
