NAFC’s BMO Harris Bradley Center “Mega Brawl”: Elias Garcia Set To Battle Chris “The Jungle” Johnson

On Saturday, May 31, a cross state rivalry will erupt inside the BMO Harris Bradley Center as Milwaukee’s Elias Garcia clashes with the Windy City’s Chris Johnson in a NAFC’s Flyweight matchup. Garcia (1-0) fights out of World-renowned trainer Duke Roufus’ gym Roufusport.  Johnson (0-1) fights out of Villa Park, Illinois, at Top Notch, under head coach Mac Ramos.

Christopher “The Jungle” Johnson fought his first professional bout earlier this year in February at MFL 33. Johnson suffered a third round TKO defeat to Otto Torriero. Johnson went pro after two solid victories that ended in a finish. Johnson will be a large flyweight as he is cutting down a whole weight class. As an amateur he fought at 145-pounds. In his first professional bout he battled at bantamweight, and now he’s headed down to fight a highly skilled flyweight.

After celebrating his twentieth birthday on May 9, Johnson will only be a year younger than his opponent Garcia. Johnson will have a significant reach advantage at 69 inches, compared to Garcia’s 64 inches. “The Jungle” will also stand two inches taller than the Roufusport fighter.

“The Jungle” will have to drag Garcia into the thick of things if he plans to be successful. Having a wrestling background would be an advantage in addition to his large frame. Johnson possesses the potential to finish a fight at any point. Expect him to use his power stature to bring the battle to the ground looking to ground and pound his foe.

The Roufusport fighter is no slouch though. He is an extremely talented fighter seeking victory number two in his fresh professional career. Garcia stacked up a perfect record while an amateur, finishing three of his four opponents. In his pro debut, he locked up a Heel Hook on Joel Scholin, ending his night at 1:26 in the second round.

Garcia is a scary dangerous opponent for any individual that decides to enter the cage with him. Johnson might have size in his corner, but Garcia trains among the best in the business at Roufusport. The Pettis brothers, Askren, Koch, Rhodes, and Camus are a few of the talented individuals he has the luxury of sparring against.

The athletic Garcia is a finisher that attacks anyone across the cage. The fearless fighter stabs the eyes out of his opponents with lethal striking and chops away at their base with crippling kicks. He doesn’t slow down though, because when fighters try to slow him down by bringing it to the canvas, he eats them up with his hungry submission attack.

Garcia is a talented individual with UFC potential written all over him. A few more wins in the way of a finish can land him in the spotlight. Fighting at the BMO Harris Bradley Center is a great chance for Garcia to shine on Milwaukee’s largest stage.

Expect a great fight between two warriors that contain heart, courage, athletic ability, technical talent. Be sure to catch it at the BMO Harris Bradley Center on May 31, 2014.
