Abu Dhabi Grand Slam Los Angeles Fight Week Begins

ABU DHABI GRAND SLAM LOS ANGELES FIGHT WEEK ACTIVITIES BEGIN AT LA CONVENTION CENTER

The Abu Dhabi Grand Slam will be broadcasted across 100 countries on Live and delayed telecast on eighteen networks.

Jiu-Jitsu Exhibition and UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation Merchandise Store will be held on the same days of the event at LA Convention Center

Los Angeles, USA, 17th September, 2017: Some of the best Jiu-jitsu players from across the globe are preparing to battle it out at the second leg of the Abu Dhabi Grand Slam Jiu-Jitsu World Tour, which is set to take place in Los Angeles on 23 and 24 September at the LA Convention Center.

Commenting on the upcoming event, Mr. Fahad Al Shamsi, CEO of the UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation® said, “Jiu-jitsu is all about technique, not size, which is one of the reasons why it is such a tactical and at the same time an entertaining sport to watch. About Abu Dhabi Grand Slam® Los Angeles 

The Abu Dhabi Grand Slam® in Los Angeles will begin at 11:00am until 18:00pm (LA standard time) on 23 and 24 September. The pre-date weigh-in will take place from 17:00pm to 19:00pm at Los Angeles Convention Center; the on-date early weigh-in will take place on the day of the event from 8:30am to 9:30am. 

The tournament is open to all nationalities, the medalists will be listed in the jiu-jitsu world rankings and cash prizes of more than $1250,000 will be awarded to the top athletes of each division. The top three academies will also receive cash prizes and top ranked competitors will receive prizes at the end of the season according to the UAEJJF World Ranking.

The first-place winner in the respective weight categories of the Abu Dhabi Grand Slam will receive 200 points. The second-place winner will receive 160 points and the third-place winner will receive 120 points.

The Jiu-Jitsu clubs from the UAE, namely: Al-Ain, Al Wahda, Al Jazira and Al Nasr will be competing at the tournament in LA.
