Gonzalez earned a takedown and transitioned into full-mount. After a scramble, Gonzalez ended up in front headlock position and attempted a guillotine choke as the first round expired.

Round two starts with Gonzalez pressuring and Rodriguez landing a front kick. Action takes a break when Gonzalez lands a kick to the groin. Gonzalez pressures and uses the clinch against the fence and earns another takedown. Gonzalez gains full-mount and after a couple hip thrusts, he takes Rodriguez’ back and sinks in a night ending Rear Naked Choke. Gonzalez takes the submission finish and victory.

125- Pedro Villa def. Edwin “Chi Chi” Solis via Unanimous Decision 30-27, 30-27, 29-28.

Villa Pressured Solis around the cage in the first round as he worked his jab. Villa used his reach to Solis at a distance as he worked his striking from the outside. The first round came to a finish as Solis came in on Villa and was greeted with a flurry of punches by the Empire MMA fighter. The second round started very similar to the first as Villa stalked Solis around the cage working his jab. After finally cornering Solis against the fence, Villa scored a takedown. While on top Villa used ground and pound working his opponents head and body from full-guard.

Villa used dominating ground control as the round ended. The third round started with a quick takedown by Villa and found himself in full-guard again, using repetitive strikes. After an unnecessary stand up by the referee, the two fighters exchanged strikes before another takedown by Villa. After a scramble, Solis went for an arm bar submission attempt which ended with Villa on top. Villa earned the unanimous decision with his dominating ground performance. Villa’s Strong posture and hand control when transitioning disabled any opportunity by Solis.

165- CW- Bryant Johnson def. Tino “the Sparten” Nepoliditis via TKO in Round 3 at 1:33.

In the first round both fighters threw a high volume of strikes, including many low kicks and straights. Each fighter landed often and made for a tough first round to score. While using his cage aggression pressuring Nepoliditis, Johnson earned a takedown. While in guard, Johnson struggled to get any offense operating. Johnson transitioned into full-mount. “The Sparten” scooted his hips out and created a scramble that eventually brought both fighters to their feet. Nepoliditis immediately went for a takedown using a over-under body lock tripping Johnson down to the canvas and landing in side-control. He didn’t get much offense going before the bell was struck ending the round.

The second round opened with Johnson using kick after kick to the lead leg of Nepoliditis. Johnson switched it up as he threw head kicks coming from the opposite side. His high and low legs were relentless causing a great amount of damage to his opponents legs. The ECU BJJ fighter, Nepoliditis tried to respond with a flurry of his own and pressuring Johnson against the cage. After a short clinch, they found themselves separated and exchanging kicks and punches. Just before the second round ended, Johnson scored a takedown.

As kicks opened the third round for Johnson, he seemed to have a high amount of energy. He went on the attack when he noticed Nepoliditis was hurt. A takedown attempt created a scramble that eventually had Johnson in full-mount. Johnson began to unload heavy fists forcing Nepoliditis to cover up. The referee ended the fight awarding Johnson the TKO victory in the third round.

125- Christian “the Giant Killer” Medina def. Florentino “Born Legend” Laureano via submission leg Triangle Choke in Round 2 at 2:33.

“The Giant Killer” slayed a “Born Legend” Saturday night in Queens, New York when he brought him to the ground with a takedown. Medina used ground and pound as he worked towards a submission. While he had the back of Laureano, Medina worked the face of his opponent as he looks for a submission opening. An arm bar attempt allowed an opportunity for Laureano to get on top into guard. Medina locked a leg triangle up as time expired in the first round.

Medina dragged Laureano to the canvas right away to start the second round. As he attempted another arm bar, Laureano got back on top and was slow to get anything going. Media locked up a leg triangle from his back that eventually forced Laureano to tap.

165- CW- James Gonzalez def. Chris “Cena” Acevedo via Majority Decision 29-29, 29-28, 30-27.

This fight was a match-up between two fighters with different styles. Acevedo a striker and Gonzalez a grappler. Through three rounds, Acevedo would deliver strikes and Gonzalez attempted multiple submission attacks. The first round was up for grabs. Between the scrambles and limited striking by Acevedo on the ground, but the takedown by Acevedo, the round could have landed in either fighters favor.

The second round was controlled by Gonzalez with his multiple submission attacks. He ended the round on top landing strikes as well. He took the second round controlling all of the situations. Acevedo made the mistake again in the third round trying to bring the fight to the ground as it wasn’t successful in the first two rounds. After having Acevedo locked in a leg triangle for a good amount of the round. Gonzalez took the back of Acevedo and rode him out for the remainder of the round, delivering strikes to Acevedo. Gonzalez stole the third round and the fight with his high quality grappling. Gonzalez had strong hip positioning, solid hand control and transitioned smoothly. He won by a Majority Decision, which may not describe the quality of the win for Gonzalez.

115- Main Event- Title Bout- Jillian DeCoursey def. Hannah “the Cannibal” McGuckin via Unanimous Decision 30-27 x 3.
