Alexander Shlemenko interview – “I’m going to beat him (Ortiz) up, hurt him and not allow him to come close”

Alexander Shlemenko interview

Earlier today MyMMANews.com spoke with Bellator’s middleweight champion, Alexander ‘Storm’ Shlemenko as he approaches arguably the biggest fight of his near 60 fight career, when he does battle with Tito Ortiz at Bellator’s inaugural pay-per-view event, May 17.

Shlemenko spoke through interpreter and manager, Alexei Zhernakov, and touched on a variety of subjects such as why he challenged Ortiz, how he will defeat the former UFC light heavyweight champion and plans for after the fight.

Shlemenko made mention that he is very much a Bellator fighter, not seeking employment with the UFC.  With an already impressive record of 50-7, he said he would also like to get another 50 wins to his credit.  At just 29 years of age, it might be possible.

The Bellator champion said this of the Ortiz fight, “I’m going to beat him up, hurt him, not allow him to come close.”

This should be a great fight between two legends in the sport.  Tune in May 17 on pay-per-view.
