After dropping three consecutive fights at 155-pounds, former UFC lightweight champion Anthony “Showtime” Pettis (18-5) is planning a move down to the featherweight division.

Pettis lost his title to current champion Rafael Dos Anjos in March 2015.  That loss was then followed by decision losses to Eddie Alvarez and Edson Barboza.

This is not the first time that Pettis has flirted with the idea of moving to 145-pounds.  Several years ago he was scheduled to move down to featherweight to challenge then champion, Jose Aldo.  That was was cancelled after Pettis was sidelined by injury.

Pettis will be working with well known weight management specialist Mike Dolce to make the cut.
