Antun Racic Ready to Continue His Dominance at KSW 59

KSW is set to continue their hot 2021 with their third show of the year, KSW 59, set for this Saturday, March 20, 2021. The co-main event is set to feature one of the organization’s most dominant champions in the form of bantamweight champion Antun Racic. Racic is the inaugural bantamweight champion and has not looked back since. KSW 59 can be seen worldwide through the KSW app on mobile devices or on the KSWTV website.

Ready to Defend the Throne

After showing his dominance in his early KSW bouts going 4-0, Racic (25-8-1) was matched up with fellow KSW standout, Damian Stasiak, at KSW 51: Croatia in November 2019. Racic does what he does best, control the pace and keep up the pressure, to dismantle Stasiak, and win the first KSW bantamweight championship. With a COVID-stricken 2020, Racic was still able to get into the cage once, defending his crown in December 2020 at KSW 57: De Fries vs Kita. Four months later and Racic is ready to defend his championship against a familiar foe.

Defending Against Repeat Opponent

Saturday’s opponent is coming back for seconds as Racic is set to battle Sebastian Przybysz. The two previously met at KSW 46 in December 2018 where Racic was victorious via unanimous decision. “For me, this is just one more fight,” Racic told MyMMANews. “I am in good shape and trained very well for this fight, like other fights before.” Facing a familiar foe will make it a bit easier for Racic to adjust in the cage with his opponent. “He is a tough opponent and a tall guy with a big reach. I am stronger and believe I have better conditioning. I am the champion for a reason,” stated Racic.

Potential Matchups

Not to look too far into the future or to look past Przybysz, but what could even be next for the dominant champion? “For now, in my division, I want to prove more,” said Racic. A super-fight is also not out of the picture for the bantamweight champion. “I would like to do some KSW super-fights for sure if they are interesting. I always accept what KSW gives me. Why not if it’s the featherweight champ or a catchweight?!” said Racic.

In conclusion, Antun Racic is absolutely worth checking out if you have not seen him in action. Along with this championship co-main event, Mariusz Pudzianowski will face Senegal wrestling legend Serigne Ousmane Dia in the main event. In addition, Olympic medalist Damian Janikowski will battle English veteran Jason Ratcliffe as well on the card.
