Baby Slice injured, Friday’s Bellator debut delayed

Kevin Ferguson Jr., aka “Baby Slice,” was scheduled to make his Bellator debut this Friday night at Bellator 160.

The son of the late famed “Kimbo Slice,” will have to put his organizational debut on hold as he has told Ariel Helwani of MMAFighting.com, that he is injured and unable to compete.

“My role in the Team Body Shop Bellator takeover hit a bit of a snag over the weekend while training, and I’m sad to say that my Bellator debut will have to wait a little longer.”

“Baby Slice” was to fight Jon Tomasian on Friday but has since come up with an MCL injury.

“I won’t need any surgery though, and that’s bad news for every single mother f—-r on the roster. All of the fan support in the lead up to this fight has been overwhelming & I can’t wait to add a new chapter to the Ferguson/Slice fighting rep. I’ll still be at the event holding it down for my teammates AJ McKee and Joey Davis. Best believe I’ll be knocking heads out sooner than later.”

Ferguson Jr., is 24-years old and made his mixed martial arts debut earlier this year.  He defeated his opponent in just 83-seconds.

“Kimbo Slice” died unexpectedly in June, days after he was diagnosed with a liver mass and congestive heart failure. One of the world’s best known and most popular fighters, he was 42 at the time of his death.  He last competed in Bellator MMA earlier this year against Dhafir Harris, AKA “Dada 5000.”
