Bellator PPV in Jeopardy AGAIN – Alvarez injured and out of title fight

Bellator attempted to propel their brand with the launch of the organization’s first pay-per-view (ppv) event in November 2013.  The card was to be headlined by Tito Ortiz vs. Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson but after Ortiz sustained a neck injury the event was pull from ppv and placed on Spike television.  It was then headlined by the second meeting between Eddie Alvarez and Michael Chandler.

The magic date for their second attempt at breaking into the ppv market was set for May 17, 2014, one week from today, headlined by an Alvarez-Chandler rubber match.

WAS is the keyword.  It was just announced that Alvarez is now off the card after sustaining a concussion in training.

Will Brooks who is also scheduled to be on the card against Nate Jolly, will probably be offered to move up on the card and challenge Chandler.

It is uncertain if Chandler will remain in the headlining position or if the Rampage / King Mo bout will headline the card.

Also on the fight card is middleweight champion Alexander ‘Storm’ Shlemenko moving up in weight to take on Ortiz.
