Bellator Releases Eight Fighters; Sokoudjou, Rafael Silva On List

Bellator has been making strides in growing into a top organization and business rival to the UFC. Bellator has snatched up popular UFC fighters such as Tito Ortiz, Phil Davis, “Kimbo Slice”, Ken Shamrock, Cheick Kongo, and the list continues to grow.

Unfortunately, this means that with the growth of the organization, the herds will be thinned, and roster cuts will become normal as in the UFC. Bellator has released eight fighters from their roster, most notable being Rameau Sokoudjou.

Sokoudjou (16-13) has fought in many top organizations, including Pride FC, M-1, UFC, and most recently, Bellator. Sokoudjou went 2-1 with the organization, with his last fight resulting in a loss to Linton Vassell via TKO. The release is a bit surprising, considering Sokoudjou’s two wins in Bellator were TKO victories.

Here is the list of fighters released from Bellator:

  • Rameau Sokoudjou
  • Rafael Silva
  • Antonio Duarte
  • Jesse Juarez
  • Curtis Millender
  • Razak Al-Hassan
  • Julio Cesar Neves
  • Alejandro Villalobos
