Brendan Barrett defends strap in ROC heavyweight main event showdown

‘Brutal’ Brendan Barrett is a cult hero among the regional combat sports scene in New Jersey and Pennsylvania.  Barrett hasn’t been in the cage to defend his title in more than two years but that doesn’t mean he’s been sitting around getting out of shape.

On the contrary, Barrett has been in training camps almost nonstop as he took on several pro boxing fights. His stand-up game is better for it, he says. It needs to be, as he enters Lou Neglia’s cage at the Tropicana Showroom, in Atlantic City on Friday night, September 23rd to take on Shelton “the Gravedigger” Graves.

Graves has a huge motor, and impressive victories over Zu Anyanwu and his most recent effort was a mauling of Bellator vet, Lorenzo Hood.

Both fighters will tip the scales around 260 lbs. A true battle of heavyweights is on tap and BBB says that he is definitely leaving with his belt wrapped around his waste. Talking to Brendan, you would never know he is a fighter. The soft-spoken giant does some modeling and has a love affair for his “furry ninjas” (his kitty cats).

He will have to put on his game face and bring out his inner-Hulk to come away with another win. Once again, he will have a huge following on hand to root him on. Don’t blink, this heavyweight tilt could be fireworks! Great match-up to finish the evening by Louis Neglia. This will be the fourth title fight of the night!
