Brendan Schaub Calls Out Brock Lesnar

Brendan Schaub (10-5) was on the Jason Ellis Show on SiriusXM a few days ago, and he did not have any kind words about former UFC heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar. Schaub said of Lesnar. “Doing fake wrestling is not the same as being in the UFC” said Schaub.

Schaub continues, “You’re playing grab ass, you know if you’re gonna win or lose. Yeah, it’s hard on your body, great. He hasn’t been competing and training like I have. If he comes back to the UFC, I would 100-percent send him packing back to the fake wrestling”.

Brock Lesnar (5-3) left the UFC following back-to-back losses to Cain Velasquez and Alistair Overeem to pursue his past success in professional wrestling. Recently, there have been strong rumors speculating Lesnar’s return to the world of mixed martial arts. Lesnar had solid buy rates due to his superstar status in the WWE, and a fight against him would bring more income and exposure for his opponent.

Brendan Schaub would be a realistic candidate for Lesnar to face in his return. Schaub has dropped his last two fights against Andrei Arlovski in a close split decision, and a one-sided beating to Travis Browne at UFC 181. Schaub caught some “tough love” not too long ago on the Joe Rogan podcast in regards to the TKO losses he has suffered in his career. Rogan was speaking to Schaub in concern for his health and that he needs to train harder to become that “top 15” fighter.

A fight against Lesnar would be a high risk, yet high reward for Schaub. The high risk is Lesnar’s brute strength and heavy hands if Schaub gets caught, facing a potential third consecutive defeat (and possible
TKO loss). The high reward would obviously be a win over such a big name in Lesnar, boosting Schaub’s stock.
