Bryan Battle vs. Tresean Gore set for February Fight Night card

Bryan Battle, the winner of TUF 29, will fight Tresean Gore after all.

Gore and Battle were supposed to fight in the finale back in August but Gore was forced out of the fight with an injury. He was then replaced by Gilbert Urbina who Battle defeated by submission to win the show. Now, according to MMAJunkie, and sources have confirmed with MyMMANews, the two will meet on February 5 at a UFC Fight Night card. The card, as of right now, does not have a location or a main event.

Bryan Battle (6-1), as mentioned, is coming off the submission win over Urbina to become the TUF 29 winner. Prior to that, the 27-year-old was fighting in the South for promotions like Showcase MMA and HR MMA. He didn’t fight anyone notable on the regional scene but on the show, in the opening round picked up a decision victory over Bellator veteran, Kemran Lachimov. In the second round, he submitted Andre Petroski, who of course, is now on the UFC’s roster and will fight at UFC 267.

Tresean Gore (3-0) looked impressive on TUF 29 as in the opening round picked up a dominant decision win over Ryder Newman, who was the early favorite to win the entire show. He followed that up with a vicious KO win over Urbina to punch his ticket into the finals but was forced out of the bout with a knee injury.

This was always the fight to make following Battle winning TUF 29, and it’s not the first time the UFC has done this when a fighter got hurt. The two have also been rumored to fight one another on the regional scene in the past but will finally meet inside the Octagon.

With the addition of Bryan Battle vs. Tresean Gore, the Feb. 5 Fight Night card is as follows.

  • Marc-Andre Barriault vs. Chidi Njokuani
  • Phil Rowe vs. Jason Witt
  • Jailton Almeida vs. Danilo Marques
  • John Castaneda vs. Miles Johns
  • Hakeem Dawodu vs. Mike Trizano
  • Sam Alvey vs. Ian Heinisch
  • Bryan Battle vs. Tresean Gore
