Chris Wade Chokes Out Mehdi Baghdad at UFC FN Boston

In the second bout on Fox Sports 1 prelims UFC Fight Night 81, Chris Wade of Long Island MMA tacked on another UFC win after dominating his opponent Mehdi Baghdad. Wade improved his record to 11-1 overall and 4-0 in the UFC.

Wade marched across the cage, grabbing Baghdad’s head and arm and hip tossed him to the canvas. From the top position, the wrestler applied great pressure not allowing the French fighter to stand up. The division III all-American drove Baghdad towards the fence using his ground-and-pound, pinning his head against the cage. Once he took the Muay Thai champions back, the Long Island native sunk leg hooks in flattening out his foe. The New York State high school wrestling champion found his way underneath Baghdad’s chin, and squeezed the life out of the UFC newcomer, forcing him to quit.

The Long Island MMA fighter is forcing his name into the mix of the deepest UFC division. Wade is now 4-0 with two submission finishes, and two decision victories. Wade continues to take advantage of fighting on Fox Sports 1, receiving great exposure, expect him to be matched against a ranked opponent in his next bout. Escaping the fight without a scratch, hopefully fans can see the Islip high school graduate back inside the octagon soon.

The official results of the bout is – Chris Wade defeated Mehdi Baghdad via submission (rear-naked choke) – Round 1, 4:30.
