Fired for not standing for National Anthem ?

Tyler Chancellor was working to become a coach at 9Round kickboxing, a gym outside Chattanooga, Tennessee. The keyword there is, “was.”

Tennessee law allows employers to fire employees for any reason, thus when Chancellor did not stand for the National Anthem during a kickboxing event that the gym was hosting last weekend, he was fired.

Chancellor told WTVC NewsChannel 9 that he hadn’t been present for a public playing of the anthem since President Donald Trump took aim at NFL players for their peaceful protests, and that several other minorities in the crowd also remained seated during the anthem.

The owner of the gym told WTVC that he is a supporter of the military and first responders and found Chancellor’s actions disrespectful.
