With a dominant performance over now former UFC bantamweight champion Dominick Cruz, the new champion Cody Garbrant has officially entered the UFC pound-for-pound rankings.Cody Garbrandt, Luke Rockhold enters pound for pound rankings

The rankings released January 2 are updated by a panel of media members within 48 hours following an event.

This is Garbrandt’s first appearance on the list but seeing how Cruz was previously ranked as the number three pound-for-pound fighter it should come as no surprise that the man who beat him at his own game would jump the line.

Cruz now drops five positions to the number eight seed.

Also, not having fought since he lost his title to Michael Bisping in June, Luke Rockhold has somehow fallen back in line and caps off the list at number 15.

Other rankings changes

After losing in the main event at UFC 207, former UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey dropped three more spots in the women’s 135-pound rankings.  After the TKO loss to Amanda Nunes on Friday, Rousey now finds herself at number four.

In the flyweight division Ray Borg climbs three spots to the 10 seed after his victory over Louis Smolka.  Smolka drops one spot to number 13.

Luis Henrique joins the heavyweight rankings for the first time finding himself at number 15. Also, Leslie Smith joins the women’s bantamweight list at number 15 as well.
