Cubs fans involved with altercation with Governor Christie receives offer from MMA promotion

Brad Joseph became somewhat of a celebrity off a video that went viral over the weekend. Joseph was at a Chicago Cubs-Milwaukee Breweres Major League Baseball game when he spotted New Jersey Governor Chris Christie and thought it would be fun to hurl insults the governor’s way.

The verbal assault prompted Christie to confront Joseph.

“You’re a real big shot,” the governor said.

“I took it the first time he said where he yelled it from about 15 yards and said some real lousy, awful stuff and then I came back having ignored him the first time and he went in for seconds,” Christie told CNN’s Jake Tapper on Monday night. “If you give it, you’re going to get it back.”

Now the incident seems to have picked up even more steam.

“If he wants to get into the ring, I would absolutely be happy to,” Joseph told New York’s PIX 11 via Skype. “I’m sure he won’t but he seemed interested in provoking a physical conversation.”
“He really seemed as if he wanted to turn this physical.”

According to Joseph, Tuff N’uff – a Las Vegas mixed martial arts promotion already agreed to put on the event sanctioned by the Nevada Athletic Commission.

“I’m willing to spot him one punch and we can go from there,” Joseph said.
