Dana White issues statement on technical issues during Mayweather-McGregor fight

UFC President Dana White has issued a statement regarding the technical issues that were experienced by millions during Saturday night’s pay-per-view broadcast of the big Mayweather and McGregor boxing bout in Las Vegas.

Showtime delayed what was billed as the biggest fight in combat sports by approximately 20 minutes as customer service representatives tried to fix a stream that did not work for millions around the world.

“If anyone else other than a conglomerate like the UFC jipped people out of millions of dollars, they would be in front of a judge next week,” said Nashville-based entrepreneur Trevor Sarver, who tweeted screen shots of his interaction with UFC.tv customer service reps. “It’s not about $100. It’s about $100 multiplied by 1000s.”

Customer service reps for UFC.tv initially directed refund requests to NeuLion who put forth the pay-per-view broadcast.  It seems the UFC has since changed their stance on the response.

“We always try to put on the biggest and most exciting fights. We want our fans to have the best experience when watching our events. Unfortunately, we didn’t deliver the way we wanted on Saturday because of NeuLion’s technical issues on UFC.TV. As usual, we always take care of our fans and will fix this. We have started processing refunds immediately for anyone that could not access the fight after purchase.”
