Dana White Attends Invicta FC 11 To Scout Cris “Cyborg” Justino

UFC president Dana White dropped in at the Shrine Auditorium to watch the women athletes of Invicta FC. White claimed to be in attendance as a “fan” only, but you can’t help to speculate his ambition to expand the rapidly growing women’s division’s.

President White didn’t stay any longer than necessary, as he exited the auditorium immediately following the TKO victory by Invicta FC Featherweight champion Cris “Cyborg” Justino. Justino retained her title and improved her record to 13-1, with another dominating performance.

“I’m here as a fan tonight, to kick back, relax and watch the fights.” UFC President Dana White said, when asked for his reasoning for attending Invicta FC 11.

The UFC president is in town for Saturday nights UFC 184 card, which takes place at the Staples Center. UFC 184 will be headlined by two female bouts for the first time in UFC history.

Ronda Rousey (10-0) will defend her bantamweight title for the fifth time in the UFC against No. 1 contender, Cat Zingano (9-0). UFC new comer Holly Holm will make her debut inside the octagon against Raquel Pennington in the co-main event.

Critics of Rousey believe Zingano has the answer for defeating the Olympian’s dominance. A victory by Zingano would create a required immediate re-match. Another successful title defense for Rousey would strengthen the beckoning calls of a “Super-fight” between UFC Bantamweight champion, “Rowdy” Rousey, and Invicta FC featherweight champion, “Cyborg” Justino.

If the fight did occur, expect a catch weight, which would most likely happen at 140-pounds. And expect Rousey to only accept this bid at the right price.

So why was Dana White in attendance at Invicta FC?

“We’re invested in this, we’re invested in women’s mixed martial arts.” White said, when asked about the UFC’s relationship with Invicta Fighting Championship. He went into promoter mode informing Invicta FC cage reporter, Laura Sanko, about the 2.7 Million dollar gate at the Staples Center and mentioned the “pay-per-view is trending very well,” which is a fight card headlined by two female fights for the first time in UFC history.

We can only speculate, but a gut feeling forces us to believe that he will make one of two decisions in the near future. One, he will form a another women’s weight class, expanding the UFC with a women’s featherweight division. Two, pending on Rousey’s success Saturday night at UFC 184, White plans to give the fans their first “Super-fight” since BJ Penn fought George St.-Pierre. Rousey vs. Justino in a Non-title catch weight fight.

“we’re here, we’re going to watch “Cyborg” fight tonight, we’ll see what happens,” White said, after being asked about the possibility of seeing a fight between Rousey and Justino.

Fans can possibly expect an announcement at the post conference if “Rowdy” Ronda Rousey defeats Cat Zingano.
