'The Cage Cutie' Destiny Quinones vs. Devon Estes added to Maverick MMA 3

‘The Cage Cutie’ Destiny Quinones vs. Devon Estes added to Maverick MMA 3

Destiny Quinones has been competing in the New York mixed martial arts scene long before the sport became regulated in the Empire State in 2016. Now with an officially recognized amateur record of 2-1,  ‘The Cage Cutie’ will take the George Washington Bridge and head out on I-80 West to the Sherman Theater in Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania where she will meet Devon Estes inside the Maverick MMA cage on September 30.

“This is officially my last amateur match,” Quinones told MyMMANews.

After a recent win at Reality Fighting in June, Quinones became that organization’s first ever strawweight champion. Quinones trains at Kai Next Level Mixed Martial Arts which has locations in both Ozone Park and Howard Beach, New York.

“I was a little scared about going pro until I went to the live UFC show this weekend in Long Island, and saw the same amount of people, similar cage and same refs, and thought ‘Hey, I can do this.  Bring it on!'”

“For my upcoming opponent: You are the last hurrah to my amateur legacy, and end of that chapter in my life. Hope you bring your A-game, cause I’m bringing striking , wrestling and BJJ ! Good Luck!”

Estes weighed in for a recent fight card in Philadelphia in June, however, after weigh-ins a medical problem kept her from competing. Now, medically cleared to fight, Estes, who holds a 2-2 amateur record and trains at Martinez BJJ in Philadelphia, PA, will look for her first win since leaving mixed martial arts competition in 2015 to fulfill her greatest obligation, becoming a mother.

The Estes-Quinones fight joins the Maverick MMA 3 card headlined by a rematch between current Maverick MMA featherweight champion Scott Heckman vs. Rob Sullivan.  Those two fought to a decision earlier this month in one of the best fights you will ever see on the regional circuit.
