Donshay White, amateur fighter, dies following Hardrock MMA fight Saturday night

Very sad news coming out of Louisville, Kentucky this morning.  Last night, Donshay White, an amateur mixed martial artist, passed away after competing in a fight at Hardrock MMA 90.

White, a heavyweight, was fighting Ricky Muse, when after a number of unanswered strikes were sustained, referee Gary Copeland called an end to contest at 2:22 of round two.

The 37-year old fighter appeared to be exhausted after the contest and collapsed backstage. White became unresponsive and CPR was administered.

White was then transported to KentuckyOne Health Sts. Mary & Elizabeth Hospital where he was later declared deceased.

A second fighter on the card, Kalen Ray who competed in the previous bout also collapsed backstage. He too received medical attention and was transported to the hospital.

At this point, the event had no medical personnel left on site, and the decision was made by the Kentucky Boxing and Wrestling Commission to cancel the remainder of the event.

We will keep you updated as more information comes in.
