New Jersey Martial Arts Hall of Fame to honor Dr. Robert Haley with the “PHYSICIAN” award

The New Jersey Martial Arts Hall of Fame will welcome its sixth class of inductees to the New Jersey Martial Arts Hall of Fame. This class will be honored at the sixth dinner gala to be held at The Event Center in iPlay America in Freehold, NJ on Dec. 1, 2017.

On December 1, Dr. Robert Haley will be inducted as PHYSICIAN.

Dr. Robert J. Haley has been providing sports injury and performance care to combat athletes for more than 20 years. As a chiropractic sports physician, Dr. Haley helped past inductee and Grapplers Quest founder, Brian Cimins, as the medical coordinator for the Grapplers Quest since its beginning.

In 2003, Haley was selected as the head chiropractor for the FILA World Freestyle wrestling championships held at Madison Square Garden. He also served at many national and local combat sport events including the Renzo Gracie Jiu Jitsu Open, Abu Dhabi Pro US Jiu Jitsu trials and ADCC Submission Fighting Championship- North American Trials.

Earning a reputation for his positive work with fighters, Haley’s office became a go to place for many top MMA athletes seeking help. This was helped early on by Sensei Edson Carvalho and MMA manager, Chris Vender, who began to utilize Dr. Haley for the care of their athletes.

And in later years, continued with fellow inductees, Karel Pravec and Paul Carnicella. Over the years, Dr. Haley has been privileged to work with many combat athletes at all levels, including Amanda Nunes, Vanessa Porto, Sara McMann, Juliana Lima, Andrew Sanchez, Plinio Cruz, as well as amateur MMA champions, Sergio Debari, Frankie Roberts and Juan Galarza.

For years, Haley was a regular contributor to “Train Hard, Fight Easy” and “Train” magazines helping athletes learn how to deal with injuries. His education includes a bachelor’s degree in Physical Education and master’s degree in Exercise Science from Montclair State, where he was a member of the wrestling team. He also has a Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Life University in Marietta, Georgia, as well as, a master’s degree in Applied Clinical Nutrition from New York Chiropractic College.
