Eddie Gordon and Chris Dempsey Face off in New Jersey For UFC on Fox 15

TUF 19 winner Eddie “Truck” Gordon and Chris Dempsey return to action in a middleweight bout set for April 18th’s UFC on Fox 15 at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey.

Gordon (7-2, 1-1 in the UFC) is looking to bounce back off of a devastating knockout loss to Josh Samman at UFC 181. Gordon was knocked out in the second round with a highlight reel head kick, his first knockout loss of his mixed martial arts career.

Dempsey (10-2, 0-1 in the UFC) made his UFC debut in Ireland’s UFC Fight Night card last July, losing via TKO to Ilir Latifi in the first round. Dempsey took the fight in two weeks’ notice when Tom Lawlor had to pull out via injury. Prior to his UFC debut, Dempsey was the reigning middlweight champion in the Gladiators of the Cage promotion based out of Pittsburgh, PA.

Both fighters possess similar traits, solid wrestling foundation with good boxing technique (and power behind their punches). This will be a good fight with both fighters given a full fight camp to prepare for April’s battle in New Jersey. The rest of the card confirmed so far:

  • Luke Rockhold vs. Lyoto Machida
  • Jim Miller vs. Paul Felder
  • Paige VanZant vs. Felice Herrig
  • Manny Gamburyan vs. Aljamain Sterling
  • Eddie Gordon vs Chris Dempsey
