Fight Night Rio:  Post Fight Bonus Recap

With nine finishes out of 12 fights at Fight Night Rio on Saturday night, UFC president Dana White said at the post fight press conference that he had a hard job picking the winners of the performance bonuses for the event.

Kevin Souza highlighted the prelims on FOX Sports 2 with a knockout win against Katsunori Kikuno, earning himself a performance bonus.

Gilbert Burns struggled against Alex Oliveira for two rounds, but stayed focused and was able to pull off an armbar for the finish. Burns took home the second performance bonus.

The final two bonuses went to Godofredo Pepey, who upset Andre Fili with a triangle choke in the first round, and Fredy Serrano, who opened up the UFC FIGHT PASS prelims with a knockout win.

All four fighters earned an additional $50k.

White said that Erick Silva, who scored a first-round guillotine submission against Josh Koscheck, and Amanda Nunes, who finished veteran Shayna Baszler by TKO, both had impressive finishes and will also receive bonuses.

The announced attendance for the event at Gymnasium Maracanazinho was 7,707.
