Fighter Spotlight: Ode “The Oddity” Osbourne Makes Pro Debut At NAFC’s ‘Explosion At The Expo’

As I continue to cover Mixed Martial Arts I can only help but shine the light on Ode “The Oddity” Osbourne. Osbourne is an amateur MMA athlete that fights out of Waukesha-MMA under head trainer Reese Shaner. He competes at the bantamweight class (135-pounds) with a current record of 5-0, holding the XFO (Xtreme Fighting Organizations) Bantamweight title.

Osbourne is a West Palm Beach, Florida native and now resides in Waukesha, Wisconsin. The 135-pounder has taken the amateur MMA scene by storm. In his five fights, he has three finishes, two of which came way of TKO. His second career victory was a TKO in the first round at only nineteen seconds, when he defeated Alex Brockway at APFC (American Predator Fighting Championships) 12.

According to Tapology, Osbourne is the #4 ranked featherweight (145-pounds) in Illinois and the #1 ranked Bantamweight (135-pounds) in the Land of Lincoln. Osbourne can easily considered the top amateur 135-pounder in the nation.

Osbourne is now taking that leap many fighters fear to take and struggle with, becoming a professional fighter. Osbourne will be fighting his Pro MMA debut at the Waukesha County Expo Center in Waukesha, WI. His debut will take place on April 11, 2015 on the NAFC’s (North American Fighting Championship) fight card ‘Explosion at the Expo’, which will be headlined by former UFC fighter Mike “Biggie” Rhodes. Rhodes will be squaring off against Charlie Brown of Appleton, Wisconsin.

“I’m looking for someone who is athletic and fast paced like Ode himself.” Match-maker Mike Camp said, referring to finding the Waukesha-MMA fighter an opponent. “I think if groomed correctly that Ode could have a very successful pro career.” Osbourne finds his pro debut set as the co-main event.

Match-maker Mike Camp found the Waukesha-MMA fighter a quality adversary, setting him up against Oscar Askar, of Kevin’s Dojo in Chicago, Illinois. Askar will be crossing his northern state boarder into Wisconsin to fight Osboure in his Professional debut as well. Tickets went on sale for the “Explosion at the Expo” on January 19, 2015.

“My amateur career was a great learning experience and I’ve learned a lot from these last two years, mainly that fighting is mostly mental and the number one goal is to just have fun, because that’s what fighting is about, having fun; Training is the hard part.” Osbourne  said. While an amateur fighter, “The Oddity” was fortunate enough to have experience training with UFC fighter Sergio Pettis and UFC lightweight champion Anthony “Showtime” Pettis.

The 135-pound fighter is one of the most exciting fighters in the dairy land. Each opponent he fought on the amateur level was an undefeated foe. Even in the two unanimous decision victories, “The Oddity” steamed rolled his competition. His five wins break down to two TKO wins, a Submission victory and two unanimous decision wins. He has incredible speed and power for his size to compliment his excellent grappling skills and unique striking attacks.

This humble fighter is a sponge when it comes to information and is the definition of a gym rat. Expect Ode “The Oddity” Osbourne to scale the ladder quickly inside the Bantamweight class as there is no limitation to his potential.

“Well just know that it’s going to be an exciting fight regardless, I can guarantee my life on that. ” Ode “The Oddity” Osbourne said.

Tickets can be purchased by visiting http://www.nafc.tv/ticketing.php  directly. Don’t wait to purchase this ticket, Osbourne’s fight alone will be worth the price of admission. Below you can watch a highlight video of “The Oddity”.
