HookNShoot to use 30-foot cage on farewell card, notables say goodbye

This coming weekend will signify the end of a era in mixed martial arts when HookNShoot fight promoter Jeff Osborne holds the organization’s final fight card.

For 23 years, HOOKnSHOOT has been the single longest running MMA show next to the UFC. HOOKnSHOOT started out in a gym in 1995, just a couple years after the birth of the Ultimate Fighting Championship.

Osborne said that the organization will use a 30-foot cage instead of the usual 20-foot cage.  It will be the first and last time the organization has done so.

HookNShoot will forever be known as one of the first mixed martial arts organizations to have ever given women a platform. The organization first allowed females to compete in 1999 and eventually built up to an all women’s card in 2002.

Speaking of women, Osborne has held nearly ever job in the MMA business, except ring card girl.  That will change this weekend when Osborne gives it a go.

The UFC added HookNShoot to the UFC Fight Pass library in 2015.  Subscribers can view old footage simply by logging in.
