It looks as if a former Invicta FC bantamweight title contender is headed to the UFC.  According to MMAJunkie verbal agreements have been made to target a December 17 fight between Irene Aldana and Leslie Smith.

Aldana (7-2) is on a two-fight win streak in Invicta FC where she challenged current champion Tonya Evinger in July 2015.  Evinger defeated Aldana via TKO in the fourth round to retain her title.

Evinger, the champion is on a nine-fight win streak and is visibly upset at a fighter she defeated getting the call to the octagon before her.

Evinger went to social media to post: “Wow..is all I can say, fkn wow.. It’s a fkn slap in the face, but then again they’ve been doing this to me since day 1”

The Aldana-Smith fight is not yet officially signed but if it happens this is what the UFC on FOX 22 card from Sacramento will look like:

Paige VanZant vs. Michelle Waterson
Urijah Faber vs. Brad Pickett
Mickey Gall vs. Sage Northcutt
Bryan Barberena vs. Colby Covington
Alan Jouban vs. Mike Perry
Josh Emmett vs. Scott Holtzman
Sultan Aliev vs. Bojan Velickovic
Paul Craig vs. Claudio Henrique da Silva
James Moontasri vs. Alex Morono
Hector Sandoval vs. Fredy Serrano
Takeya Mizugaki vs. Eddie Wineland
Irene Aldana vs. Leslie Smith

Aldana is longtime training partner of Alexa Grasso, who made her octagon debut this past Saturday’s UFC Fight Night 98, outpointing veteran Heather Jo Clark in an impressive showing.

Smith will be returning to the octagon for the first time since May when she was defeated by Cris ‘Cyborg’ Justino in a 140-pound catchweight bout.
