Jacare vs Romero added to UFC 194

2

On the very same night that UFC middleweight champion Chris Weidman defends his title in the co-main event of the evening, he may also find out who his next challenger shall be if he gets past Luke Rockhold.

Weidman fights Rockhold, December 12 in Las Vegas, the same night that UFC featherweight title holder, Jose Aldo defends against interim champ, Conor McGregor, however, another UFC middleweight fight was just added to the lineup.

Number two-ranked Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza face off with the third-ranked contender at 185 pounds, Yoel “Soldier of God” Romero.

A former Strikeforce middleweight champion, Brazil’s Souza has won eight straight, with five of those wins coming in the UFC’s Octagon. Cuba’s Romero is an Olympic Silver medalist in freestyle wrestling who is unbeaten in six UFC bouts, and in his most recent bout, he knocked out Lyoto Machida in the third round.

If Weidman defeats Rockhold he is likely to later face the winner of this bout.  Should Rockhold win, a rematch with Weidman is probably in order.
