Butcher, a Port Jefferson Station native will be battling Rachel Ball in the main event of this epic night of K1 bouts. The fight card will have 16 bouts total, including the four Team USA vs. Team England fights. In addition to Butchers international fight, Elyse Tomasello of Team USA will also be competing against Team England’s Katie Healy.

“I’m one of those people who has grown to love the science of weight cutting,” Butcher informs My MMA News reporter Kyle Carroll on Carroll’s Corner MMA Podcast. She mentioned how cutting weight has become relatively easy since changing her diet to a plant based diet roughly five years ago. The Long Island native earned a Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry and is currently attending school upstate New York finishing her graduate degree in BioChemestry & Public Health.

Butcher (6-2) is displaying a true focus and dedication to the game which is displayed through her traveling back-and-forth between her gym upstate NY (5 Element MMA Binghamton, NY) and Long Island (Journey Martial Arts Port Jefferson Station).

For the first time in Butcher’s career, her opponent standing across the ring will look down upon the Long Islander’s five-foot-eight-inch frame. Butcher hasn’t seen any film on her opponent yet but a teammate who once fought Ball a couple of years ago has been informed the Team USA Strawweight fighter of Ball’s technical striking.

Butcher seeks her seventh victory on April 9, 2017, as she plans to kick the English filly back across the pond. If tickets aren’t yet already sold out, be sure to visit Jackhammer Promotions’ Facebook page to contact them for tickets.
