Jason Pacheco Jr., 24, was driving his motorcycle westbound on Russell Road about 9 p.m. Thursday when a Ford Explorer pulled in front of him at Palm Street, near Mountain Vista Street, while turning left.

The Las Vegas based mixed martial arts fighter died Thursday in the southeast valley motorcycle crash, the county coroner confirmed Friday.

Pacheco was taken to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center, where he later died.

The 71-year-old driver of the Ford stayed at the scene and did not appear to be impaired, police said. The crash is under investigation.

Pacheco fought at RFA: Resurrection Fighting Alliance (now LFA: Legacy Fighting Alliance).

Pacheco was undefeated as an amateur mixed martial artist going 4-0, before turning pro in 2015.  He won his first pro fight vi a submission and had four fights cancelled after that, never being able to get that second pro fight under his belt.

He trained out of One Kick’s Gym at 121 E. Sunset Road, about 6 miles from the fatal crash.
