Kaitlyn Grispi seeks help after domestic abuse

Kaitlyn Grispi, the 25-year old wife of a mixed martial artist who used to fight in the UFC (not to be confused with a UFC fighter, he is not under contract with the UFC) is seeking financial help stemming from the result of a domestic abuse arrest that landed her husband Josh in jail last month.

Josh was arrested twice in four days and charges include: two counts of assault and battery, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, two counts of violating a restraining order, animal cruelty, malicious damage to a motor vehicle, drug possession to cultivate marijuana and improper storage of a large capacity firearm and rifle or shotgun near a child.

Kaitlyn reportedly suffered a broken wrist and concussion from the alleged beating, in addition to trauma inflicted by the pitbull attack. Their children, ages one and three, were placed in custody of their grandparents (on Kaitlyn’s side). The dog was turned over to animal control but she has since gotten the dog back.

Grispi is the first of two to have been assaulted by former UFC fighters in the past month.  War Machine, formerly known as Jon Koppenhaver, was also arrested just days ago after he was in hiding for a week after allegedly assaulting former girlfriend and adult film star, Christ Mack, and another man.

Grispi told MyMMANews.com that her children are still in her mother’s custody and that the pitbull that attacked her during the ordeal with Josh did not mean to attack her.  She said the dog lunged to stop the fighting and it accidentally bit her.

She started an online crowdfunding campaign to help raise funds for her cause.  The description reads:

“Hi my name is KaitlynGrispi and I started this fund in hopes for my family to pay bills so my kids and my self can keep our home while we recover from domestic abuse I was a stay at home mom and now am left with my two kids to support and am in need of help to pay bills and mortage till I find myself a job I hate asking but in this time I need to do this for my family my kids didn’t deserve this situation thank you.

I can do all things through Christ Who strengthens me and I will thank you for love and support.”

Grispi told MyMMANews.com that the Department of Children and Families required she install cabinets in her house go to counseling and take parenting classes.

“I never deserved to have them (the children) taken from me.  I’m a good mom,” Grispi said.

She said she is $4,000 behind on the mortgage as Josh is locked up and is also seeking help in getting her children back.
