MMA Platinum Gloves Announces Military Appreciation Month

MMA Platinum Gloves will host their eighth installment of amateur MMA on Long Island February 7, 2014. The main event is a scheduled title Bantamweight bout between champion Danny Ochart and challenger  Shaquan Moore. MMA Platinum Gloves continues to host their events at the Sports Arena in St. James on Long Island.

The Long Island promotion announced on Veterans Day that November is Military Appreciation month and for the remaining days of the eleventh month, they will donate 10% of ticket purchases to Homes for our Troops and Wounded Warrior Project.military appreciation month

“We’re always trying to give back,” Said VP of operations Nic Canobbio. Canobbio and his partner Craig Fields already donate a large portion of their profits to Fields’ not-for-profit Pit bull rescue, New York Bully Crew. An organization that rescues and finds loving homes looking to adopt Pit bulls.

“Both Craig and I have multiple family members who served the country protecting our freedoms,” said Canobbio. MMA Platinum Gloves has been known for donating tickets to wounded veterans attending past shows.
