MMA Platinum Gloves & Kickstarter Raising Funds For TV Production Costs

MMA Platinum Gloves is looking to escalate their organization to the next level by bringing amateur mixed martial arts into your living room via the television. Platinum Gloves has an open slot Tuesday nights from 8-10 p.m. with their partners Fight Network. Amateur MMA is a sport that is rapidly growing on Long Island and the entire state of New York. Since professional MMA is currently illegal in the Empire State, the demand for amateur MMA is high for the fans of the local area.

The long Island based amateur MMA organization hosts an event every few months, with the last few events being held in St. James on Long Island, at The Sports Arena. The past several events have averaged nearly 900 fans in attendance. Each fight card averages 12 bouts, which is the perfect amount of bouts for an all amateur fight card. MMA Platinum Gloves has created a frenzy on Long Island with the attendance of UFC (Ultimate Fighting Championship) stars, action packed fights and their high quality production.

“We just launched a Kickstarter campaign to help fund our goal of getting a live TV series to showcase our fighters.” said Nic Canobbio, VP of Operations. He is steering the promotion in the right direction by attempting to fill fans cups with as much local MMA action as possible. MMA Platinum Gloves launched a Kickstarter Campaign to afford the expensive TV production equipment required.

The monthly episode will fill a two hour gap, airing bouts, fighter interviews and inside news going on within MMA Platinum Gloves. The TV show won’t be following a Reality TV Show model, so TUF (The Ultimate Fighter) fans shouldn’t expect the episodes to follow the same platform. Wisconsin MMA fans might recognize a show similar to what Scott Joffe, Duke Roufus, Anthony Pettis and host Paul Flatden Pioneered two years ago. After airing 13 episodes on My24 WCGV, the show “WI MMA Today” came to an end. WI MMA Today aired several highlighted fights and fighter interviews.

The Kickstarter campaign will last for 30 days and must raise $6,000 in order to receive the funds from Kickstarter. The funds will pay for the TV production equipment, which includes lighting, cameras and video editing software. This TV show has the potential to not only display the young talent on Long Island, but help extend information to fans still learning about the growing sport in the area.

MMA Platinum Gloves is one of the cheapest amateur shows in the tri-state area with tickets starting at $20. The promotion provides a family friendly atmosphere where local fighters can showcase their talent. The promotion’s ninth installment takes place April 25, 2015 in St. James, at The Sports Arena. Tickets can be purchased by visiting www.mmaplatinumgloves.com or by contacting any fighter participating in the event.

Two titles will be defended Saturday, April 25, 2015. Lightweight title between champion Nick Fiore (6-0) and James Gonzalez (3-1) in the main event and Bantamweight champion Danny Ochart (3-0) will defend his belt against No.1 bantamweight contender Shaquan Moore (4-1).
