Molly McCann reveals she has received her next fight offer: “We’ll all know very very soon”

UFC flyweight Molly McCann said that she has received her next fight offer and everyone should know her next opponent soon.

It appears the return of “Meatball” Molly McCann could be announced soon, just weeks after she lit up the Octagon with another dazzling performance. Last month, at the O2 Arena McCann landed a highlight-reel spinning back elbow for the second consecutive fight, and although it didn’t knockout her opponent, it led to a first-round finish that sent the arena into a frenzy and most importantly, landed McCann inside the Top-15 flyweight division rankings.

Picking up her third consecutive win, two in thrilling fashion, Molly McCann has become the talk of the town with her charismatic and brash personality, her close relationship with teammate Paddy Pimblett, and her incredible recent showings inside the Octagon. After her most recent win over Hannah Goldy last month, McCann said she’d like to get back into action by the end of the year, with her sights set on either a return in November or December and hoping to fight in Las Vegas.

With Pimblett and McCann saying they wanted to fight on the same card again, as they have for their last two fights, it’ll be interesting to see if the UFC keeps the pair together, but it does seem news could be around the corner. This week, while making an appearance on ‘Unlocking The Cage‘ with Jimmy Smith on Sirius XM, McCann didn’t release names but did say that her next fight announcement could be known soon.

“I’ve just been offered someone, actually. I will wait, we’ll all know very, very soon. I’ll probably have my contract ripped up if I do [release the name] but yeah, it’ll be before the year is out.”

Before she announced that an opponent and fight could be coming soon, Molly McCann was asked about how it feels to be inside the Top-15 division rankings at flyweight, a division where champion Valentina Shevchenko continues to search for fresh new contenders.

“It’s an honor to be in that conversation. I just have to give consistent performances now to prove I am who I say I am and that my fights are always worth watching, I know I’ll get there one day. I believe it, I think people believe that I can. There’s only a few contenders left in the 125-division, so it’s just a matter of time.”

If she continues to carry her momentum and putting on incredible performances inside the Octagon, against ranked contenders in the division, Molly McCann could soon not only find herself as the talk of the town but also the top of the flyweight division. One fight at a time for now, and that next fight could be determined sooner than later.
