“New York City, I Love You” – Michael Chandler after loss to Primus

New York, NY– In Bellator NYC’s final title fight of the evening, defending Michael Chandler battled challenger Brent Primus for a mere two-minutes and twenty-two seconds. After a few exchanges, The champion planted his left foot awkwardly causing him to injure himself.

Chandler planted his left foot awkwardly, stumbling to the mat. Primus leaped on Chandler with a knee and a few strikes causing the champion to misplace is footing once again. The referee called a timeout for the doctors to examine Chandlers ankle.

After a period of time, it seemed as if the fight would continue. Chandler raised from the stole raising his arms up amping the crowd up. Unknowingly, he went to sit back down and the stole was removed, falling to his butt. It made for a loud crowd chuckle. After standing back up, the Bellator MMA lightweight Champion was informed by the referee that the fight has been called due to doctor’s stoppage.
