New York Jiu-Jitsu Championships March 25 at The Sports Arena

Are you looking for an opportunity display your superior grappling skills at the New York Jiu-Jitsu Championship?

On Saturday, March 25, 2017, you’ll have your chance to grapple with the Tri-State area’s best Jiu-Jitsu artists. The New York Ji-Jitsu Championship tournament will take place at The Sports Arena in St. James, New York. Doors open at 8 a.m. with kids and teen competition starting at 10 a.m. and adults beginning at 1 p.m. est.

New York Jiu-Jitsu All competitors must be weighed in one hour before start time. Competitors can register in two divisions (Gi and No-Gi) or one division. Register online by March 18, at www.wellruntournaments.com for a fee of $70/$60 or at the door for a fee of $80/$70.

“We are expecting north of 350 grapplers competing at the New York Championship,” Well Run Tournaments representative informed My MMA News. The tournament is presented by Well Run Tournaments. The President of Well Run Tournaments is Jason Layton, a former All-American out of Nassau Community College.

The New York Jiu-Jitsu Championship will be governed by the WRT BJJ General Rules.

“We want to create the best match-ups possible while delivering a smooth and competitive experience,” said Jason Layton. “Getting in-and-out quickly is important to us,” Layton explained the importance of having athletes show up, compete, and leave. Not having competitors sitting around is important to Well Run Tournaments.

On Sunday, March 26, 2017, The Ironman Grand Prix Wrestling Tournament is scheduled. The Grand Pix is an 8-man round-robin wrestling tournament. Every wrestler will wrestle 7 matches in 3 hours, that’s one match every 25 minutes. Well Run Tournaments have future events in mind, though no dates have been announced.
