Paddy Pimblett Speaks on life after UFC debut

Paddy Pimblett added to UFC London, Alexander Volkov vs. Tom Aspinall headlines

Emerging lightweight star Paddy Pimblett has been added to UFC London, an event that will be headlined by Alexander Volkov vs. Tom Aspinall.

Pimblett had long been rumored to fight on the card, and this week it was revealed that he will be taking on Kazula Vargas. Originally, there were rumors Pimblett would fight Jared Gordon, but Vargas got the call. The fight news was broken by MMA Fight Club. The card is set to take place on March 19 at the O2 Arena in London, England, the UFC’s first trip there since 2019. As for the main event, ESPN’s Brett Okamoto was the first to reveal that it’s a heavyweight fight between Volkov and Aspinall. With the addition of these two fights, the UFC London card is coming together very nicely.

Pimblett (17-3) is quickly emerging as a new star for the UFC. The 27-year-old Brit won his UFC debut last year against Luigi Vendramini by KO and looks to continue his hot streak here.

Vargas (12-4) is competing in the UFC for the fourth time, having gone 1-2 previously with losses to Brok Weaver and Alex da Silva, with his lone win in the Octagon coming against Rong Zhu.

Volkov (34-9) is the No. 5 ranked heavyweight in the UFC. The former Bellator heavyweight champion has an 8-3 record in the UFC and is coming off of a win over Marcin Tybura.

Aspinall (11-2) is quickly emerging as a serious contender in the UFC heavyweight division. The 28-year-old Brit is 4-0 in the Octagon with wins over the likes of Serghei Spivac, Andrei Arlovski, Alan Baudot, and Jake Collier. With a win over Volkov, it could set up Aspinall for an elite opponent.

Do you like the Paddy Pimblett matchup set for UFC London, and who do you think wins the heavyweight headliner between Alexander Volkov and Tom Aspinall?
