Pearl Gonzalez ready to show the world her knockout power at Gamebred Boxing 4

Throughout the entire journey of her career, Pearl Gonzalez has taken the road less traveled, while walking down many different avenues. Having worked her way up through the Chicago MMA scene early in her career, she also did it for a bigger purpose: She wasn’t letting her neighborhood get the best of her. Having grown up in a tough neighborhood, Gonzalez knew she was going to have to fight her way to a better life, and she did just that.

As her career progressed and thrived as a professional, Pearl Gonzalez would have a brief run with the UFC, followed by a stint with Invicta FC where she won four out of her six fights in that time. Despite her success in Invicta FC, Gonzalez would transition into a run in the grappling world, having competed in multiple matches in 2020 until she suffered a knee injury that sidelined her.

It was during her recovery from the knee injury that Gonzalez made another switch, this time to the sweet science, when she picked up from her home in San Diego, California and moved to Brooklyn, New York and trained with arguably one of, if not the greatest, female boxers of all-time, Amanda Serrano. Backed by her training and knowledge of working with Serrano, she would begin competing in boxing, including two fights in bare knuckle boxing where she went 1-1, and then her new journey of full time boxing.

Her last fight in any avenue was a boxing fight under Gamebred Boxing promotions at Gamebred 3 last November, where she defeated Ivana Coleman with a first-round finish. On April 1, Gonzalez returns to action with Gamebred Boxing, led by UFC superstar Jorge Masvidal, where she will take on fellow UFC alum, Gina Mazany, at Gamebred Boxing 4.

Not only does this fight mark a return to the boxing ring for the Chicago-based fighter, but it will also be an opportunity to showcase her knockout power in the boxing world. When asked what she’s looking to prove against Mazany, she firmly stated, she’s looking to prove her knockout ability in boxing and believes her opponent is game and will be ready to bring the war.

In the interview above, watch Pearl Gonzalez discuss her return to Gamebred Boxing, her willingness to compete in all aspects of combat sports, and how her career can be looked to as motivation for women around the world.
