Pregnancy delays Bellator debut for Alexis Dufresne

Former UFC fighter Alexis Dufresne was to make her Bellator debut next month in front of her hometown crowd against Arlene Blencowe, however the “Sneaky Zebra” will not be fighting anytime soon as it has been confirmed she is pregnant.

Dufresne (5-2) last won against Kim Couture in February 2014 before signing with the UFC and dropping two fights; one against Sarah Moras and the other, Marion Reneau.

Dufresne, 24, fought in the UFC at 135 pounds and missed weight twice.  Since Bellator has a 145-pound division it seemed like a perfect fit for her, however she is now off the Bellator 137 card.

Blencowe (5-4), who was also to make her Bellator debut next month, is in limbo right now. The decision has not been made on whether she will remain on the card.

Bellator 137 is headlined by a middleweight title fight between champion Brandon Halsey and UFC veteran Kendall Grove. Eduardo Dantas and Mike Richman meet in the co-main event to decide Bellator’s next bantamweight challenger.
