Rampage draws Maldonado for return UFC fight

UFC President Dana White announced Saturday on Canadian television station TSN that Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson has opponent for his first fight back in the UFC.

Jackson will face off against Fabio Maldonado at UFC 186 in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, April 25.

Rampage last fought in May 2014 defeating King Mo, Muhammed Lawal via decision in Bellator.

Bellator claims Jackson is still under contract with the organization, while he contends that he terminated the deal because Bellator did not fulfill its end of the bargain.

Jackson (35-11) earned the UFC light heavyweight title at UFC 71 knocking out then champion Chuck “the Iceman” Liddell.  He lost the title two fights later via unanimous decision to Forrest Griffin.

Maldonado (22-7) is coming off a TKO win over Hans Stringer this past October.

UFC 186 is headlined by a bantamweight title rematch between T.J. Dillashaw and Renan Barao along with a co-main event of Rory MacDonald vs. Hector Lombard.

UFC 186 is rumored to look like this thus far:

TJ Dillashaw vs. Renan Barao 2
Rory MacDonald vs. Hector Lombard
Quinton Jackson vs. Fabio Maldanado
Michael Bisping vs. C.B Dollaway
Patrick Cote vs. Joe Riggs
Daron Cruickshank vs. Beneil Dariush
