Some of the most exclusive cars owned by MMA superstars

There are two sports where you need to give your 100% concentration because if you blink wrong once, you’re dead. One is motorsports and the other is Mixed Martial Arts, or MMA. And, when we talk about MMA not talking about Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is just inappropriate. This is the most elite championship bringing in the best in the business against each other to make out who’s the reigning champ. To give you an estimate, the Conor McGregor Vs. Khabib Nurmagomedov’s face-off attracted nearly 2.5 million viewers and generated nearly $17.2 million! You can get an estimate of how much the participants make and how much their net worth is. So, with that much green currency, it is imperative to assume that one of the top people in the game ought to have the nicest rides, endowed in luxury. While there are cars like Rolls Royce on the list, there are many who drive more common cars like 2021 GMC Yukon prices of which start at a point where the common man can buy one. Let’s see some of the nicest cars which people in the game own:

1) Conor McGregor: BMW 730d MSport

Among the plethora of cars that the Irish MMA fighter owns, these sets of wheels are the ones he prefers to drive in quite frequently. Powering this gentle German giant is a 3.0L In-line 6 diesel. This powerplant is good for powering out a moderate 265 horsepower and 457 lb-ft of pulling power while providing one of the most luxurious and tech-loaded experiences in the segment. The power is sent to the rear wheels via an 8-speed Steptronic transmission providing smooth shifts and linear power delivery. All these specifications make the Bimmer the perfect daily car, just as one’d like!

2) Max Holloway: Dodge Daytona

The former MMA champ shared a snap on his Twitter handle @BlessedMMA captioned “Dodge”. In the snap, he looked pretty content with the set of wheels he opted for, also known as the Dodge Charger Daytona. It is a limited production vehicle launched in 2020 to commemorate the manufacturer’s 50th anniversary. The actual name of the car is ….. 2020 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat Widebody Daytona 50th Anniversary Edition …… which is a mouthful, just like it was in the olden days of big V8s. Only 501 were made. Under the hood of the Daytona, there’s a 6.2L HEMI V8 which is tuned to the extent of 717 horsepower and 650 lb-ft of torque. All this power, coupled with the infamous supercharger whine, makes the Charger Daytona the perfect car to haul your family and burn rubber, at the same time.

3) Derrick Lewis: Lamborghini Huracan

Well, you’ll ask that why is a Huracan on the list because it is apparently the go-to car for celebrities. But what Derrick Lewis has is something very different. Yes, it is still a Huracan but it’s not a run-of-the-mill one. This bad boy has no rear bumper. No, it wasn’t broken in an accident or anything. It was removed deliberately to accommodate a twin-turbo setup which was fitted by Late Model Racecraft. There’s no information as to how much horsepower the car is pulling but it is north of 900 horsepower, at least. Derrick, in his very first attempt on a drag strip, clocked a hair above 10 seconds and is expected to reduce the same to early-9s with a little more practice.

4) Adam Yandiev: Lamborghini Murcielago

The Russian MMA champ used to own one, till his mechanic decided to take it to a repair shop, only to never return again. Sadly, the 43-year old mechanic lost control of the Italian bull and launched it into a lamppost, killing him instantly and leaving the passenger in a coma. The impact was so bad that it literally split the car in half. Well, RIP to the perished souls. Also, we thought of including this to the list because the Murcielago is one of the rarer cars with the current crop of MMA champs, with most of them steering towards the Huracan or the Aventador.

5) Randy Couture: 1949 Chevrolet Pickup

Well, it is not necessary for a UFC fighter to opt for all the latest and greatest that there is. Well, there are people like Conor McGregor who’d like a Rolls Royce every day of the week, and then there are people like Randy Couture who decided to go with the ‘Old id Gold’ strategy and bought a ’49 Pickup instead. Randy has always been into American wheels be its muscle cars, hot rods, etc. The Pickup was built from the ground up by Findlay Customs in Nevada who did a very immaculate job of making a masterpiece of a truck! Under the hood is a GM LS3 6.2L V8 motor which belts out 430 horsepower and is paired to a GM 4L60E automatic tranny sending all the power to a custom Adams Driveshaft & Strange Performance 9” Differential. There are many mods done to it to make the truck a blast to drive, as preferred by ‘Toll Road’ himself!
