Breaking News: Aggressive Combat Championship, KTFO, merge, Triton Fights born

Triton FightsBig news coming out of the New York area, as Aggressive Combat Championships and KTFO announce their merger.

Back in September, when the two organizations announced their cross-promotional event, World’s Collide, it was unclear if the two promotions had intentions of a permanent merger or if this was a once time occurrence.

Tonight, at Buffalo Wild Wings in Centereach, Long Island, Co-owners Nic Canobbio and Tom Kilkenny will officially announce their companies merger via My MMA News Facebook page Live.

The newly formed organization’s name will be Triton Fights.

Triton is a mythological Greek God, the messenger of the sea. He is the son of Poseidon and Amphitrite, god and goddess of the sea respectively, and is herald for his father. He is usually represented as a merman, having the upper body of a human and the tail of a fish, “sea-hued”, according to Ovid “his shoulders barnacled with sea-shells”. Like his father, Poseidon, he carried a trident. A trident is a three-pronged spear. The three prongs of the spear represent the three owners, Nic Canobbio, Tom Kilkenny, and Eugene Perez, of Triton Fights.

“Triton Fights combines the action-packed fights that ACC has been known for with the professional production and TV exposure that KTFO Fights has been providing. If you’re a serious MMA fighter or fan, then there’s only one promotion you should strive to be a part of and that’s Triton Fights.” Said c0-owner Nic Canobbio.

“We are very excited for the Future New York’s two top promotions that are coming together to form one Super Power,” Said co-owner Eugene Perez. “Triton Fights will have nothing but the best production values and exposure for the tri-state area’s best fighters,” Perez told My MMA News reporter Kyle Carroll.

“Two of the largest amateur MMA promotions in New York State have created a power house organization, where fighter safety is of the utmost importance, regulated by the United States Muay Thai Association (U.S.M.T.A.),” Said co-owner Tom Kilkenny. “The two companies develop a great blend of top notch TV production, gold standard marketing for fighters and possess the No. 1 rated amateur fight card match-maker. Fighters should strive to be a part of Triton Fights.”
