TUF 24 Finale Results – Ultimate Fighter Season 24

The Ultimate Fighter Finale takes place today, December 3 at the Pearl Theatre at The Palms in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The TUF 24 Finale event airs on FS1 following early prelims on UFC Fight Pass.

A flyweight title fight between champion Demetrious Johnson and TUF 24 winner Tim Elliott headlined the event.  It came as total shock to me and to most fans everywhere that Elliott would win not only the first round but also hang in the fight with the number one pound-for-pound fighter on the planet for an entire five founds.   Elliott was relentless but he hung in there each round after fading and the contest went the entire five rounds.  Unfortunately he did not get his hand raided in victory but he did gain new fans.

TUF Coaches

In the co-main event TUF 24 coaches Joseph Benavidez and Henry Cejudo did battle.  If you would have told me that Cejudo would have improved tremendously in his stand up game coming into this fight I might have laughed at you.  But in the opening round, Cejudo did have the better striking of the two combatants.  Although a point was deducted for two accidental groin shots to Benavidez, Cejudo may have still won the round.

The fight did go the distance with odd scoring even with the point deduction but Benavidez did win a split decision.

Well That’s New

Just when you think you have seen it all, something strange happens.  During the Jake Ellenberger vs. Jorge Masvidal fight, Ellenberger’s toe got stuck in the fence and Masvidal pounced on him as he tried to break free.

Referee Herb Dean tried to call a time out but the fight was declared over with Masvidal winning via TKO.

The two female bouts on the card were extremely impressive.

Sara McMann submitted the returning Alexis Davis who was coming back to the sport after giving birth to her son earlier this year.

McMann’s hold was so tight that Davis turned a deep color of purple.

Jamie Moyle - TUF 24

Earlier in the evening Jamie Moyle defeated Kailin Curran via unanimous decision but not before getting bloody in the process.
