UFC 177 results, Dillashaw finishes Soto in 5th, Correira stalks horsewomen

UFC 177 will go down as what is billed as the worst pay-per-view on paper before the event went live in history of the organization however the card fell just short of electrifying.  The lacklaster actually was not half bad.  Talk about curses, this card was cursed as on weigh-in day (the day before the event) two fighters pulled out including the MAIN event’s former champion Renan Barao.

Barao apparently passed out while cutting weight and Joe Soto stepped in to challenge 135 lb., champion T.J. Dillashaw for the strap.  Also Olympic Gold Medalist Henry Cejudo also pulled out before weigh-ins before even making his UFC debut.

In the main event champion T.J. Dillashaw was taken into the fifth round again competitor Joe Soto who was given just 24 hours notice of the bout after Barao apparently passed out while cutting weight.  Soto saved the pay-per-view and took the champion all the way to the edge before being KO’d in the 5th.

In the women’s 135-pound division, Brazilian Bethe Correira takes out the second of four, Four Horsewomen, a tight knit group to include women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey, as Correira defeated Shayna Baszler via TKO in Round 2.

Bethe Correira defeated Shayna Baszler via TKO at 1:56 in Round 2

Carlos Diego Farreira defeated Ramsey Nijem via TKO 1:53 in Round 2

Yancy Medieros defeated Damon Jackson via Reverse Guillotine Choke submission at 1:52 in Round 2

Derek Brunson def. Lorenz Larkin via Unanimous Decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27)

Anthony Hamilton def. Ruan Potts via TKO (Punches to the Body) at 4:17 in Round 2

Chris Wade def. Cain Carrizosa via Technical Submission (Guillotine Choke) at 1:12 in Round 1
