After the long and unplanned break because of the coronavirus pandemic, the UFC is moving ahead in full force. Everyone is looking forward to the 6th of June the date for the UFC 250. The pandemic has caused uncertainties to choose the venue for the event, the fight event will be possibly held at the UFC Apex arena in Las Vegas or the VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena in Jacksonville, Florida. The live coverage of UFC 250 will be on BT Sports.
Vystar has always been the first choice for the home events of UFC to be held in May. But according to Dana White, who is the president of UFC he stated the U.S. fights will be moved back to Las Vegas as and when the permission is sought from the Athletic Commission of the Nevada State.
Women’s Title fight at the UFC 250
While the work for the fight card is still on, the fight between Amanda Nunes and Felicia Spencer. Both the ladies will be fighting for the women’s featherweight championship title. For the 1st time since winning, Nunes will try to defend her featherweight title. She won the title against Cris Cyborg, it was a 51 second Knockout on December 18. Since that fight, she has managed to successfully defend her bantamweight title.
Spencer’s 1st defeat
In July 2019 spencer was defeated for the first time in her career. At the UFC 240, it was a unanimous decision against her in favor of Cyborg. However, in February shea came back strongly with a first round win over Zarah Fairn Dos Santos. The experienced campaigner Spencer is the winner of the 2018 Invicta FC featherweight title.
There is a lot of speculation regarding the UFC 250 main event. The association is trying its best to schedule the full card, such as some of the big name fights which will help in making the pay-per-view headlines. In June, Alexander Volkanovski was expected to fight the rematch against Max Holloway. It would have been his first title defense but that match is in jeopardy as there are travel restrictions caused by the coronavirus pandemic.
News is also that Kamaru Usman will be eventually taking on Jorge Masvidal for the welterweight championship, but as of now, there is no confirmation.
