UFC Fight Night 112 Results from Oklahoma City – Chiesa vs. Lee

UFC Fight Night 112 take place at the Chesapeake Energy Arena in Oklahoma City. The card is a rare Sunday evening UFC event and airs on FS1 following prelims on FS2 and UFC Fight Pass.

The main event was between rising UFC lightweights, Michael Chiesa and Kevin Lee.  Lee found an early advantage and pounced on Chiesa, and continued throughout the round before it looked like he was about to finish Chiesa but the referee stopped the fight before a tap or pass out.  Lee wins in the first.

Yesterday, former UFC welterweight champion Johny Hendricks missed weight yet again.  The former champion who moved to middleweight after several weight cutting issues, failed to make the 186-pound limit for middleweight. Hendricks weighed in at 188 pounds for his matchup against Tim Boetsch.  Boetsch found an opening in the second round and delivered a TKO victory.

Felice Herrig looked sharp in her fight against Justine Kish tonight.  Very impressive win for this strawweight as she earned her third straight victory.

Dominick Reyes made a statement in the UFC light heavyweight division tonight against Joachim Christensen earning a TKO victory in just 29 seconds.

The end for BJ Penn?

UFC Hall of Famer BJ Penn once again made an attempt to get back in the win column, but lost a majority decision to Dennis Siver who has been absent from the cage for several years himself.  Hopefully this was it for Penn and he finally decides to hang them up.

Former UFC women’s strawweight champion Carla Esparza earned a unanimous decision win over Maryna Moroz to get herself back in the win column after a loss to Randa Markos earlier this year.

2-0 for CFFC Veterans

How about Darrell Horcher coming back from a horrible motorcycle accident last year that almost cost him his life? Horcher called out Devin Powell and the UFC gave him the fight he wanted. Horcher earned a split decision tonight in Oklahoma City.

Former Cage Fury Fighting Championships champ Jared Gordon defeated Michel Quinones in devastating fashion in his UFC debut.  “Flash” then got on the microphone and delivered one of the best post fight speeches you will ever hear, talking about issues he has had in life, weighing in, and more, but promised greatness and sincerity to the fans.
